Over the years, I have been astonished by the amount of new skyscrapers being erected in Central London – not to mention their size. Huge cranes seem to be a permanent part of the landscape. These pictures in The Guardian show how the skyline will look in a matter of years.

The trouble with all these megastructures is that there is no extra capacity in the transport systems. The tubes and buses in London are already bursting at the seams, ready for a disaster to happen.
Panama City has been doing the same thing; it feels like a new skyscraper goes up every month.. The problems there are the lack of water and sewage systems. For years, sewage has been pumped straight out into the bay.
