Orpington Park and Priory

Orpington has quite a long history. The Wiki page (here) is short but has a number of links. All Saints Church existed before the Normans. The Priory and the adjoining park are perhaps the most interesting parts of the town.

This photo from Wiki is better than the one I took.

The library is around the other side of the Priory.

These are photos of other sections of the park. I didn’t bother taking photos of the areas that seem to be increasingly abandoned.

Unfortunately, it is no longer considered safe to visit the park after dark. Kids hang out there taking drugs, there have been muggings and a young woman was raped a while back.
